Spaghetti Bowl Xpress (SBX) Traffic Control Update | Week of May 22, 2022

Traffic control and detour maps are available here. Construction operations are weather dependent and subject to change.

The NDOT project team wishes the community a safe and happy Memorial Day. Construction will temporarily shut down Friday afternoon, May 27 and resume Tuesday morning, May 31. Some traffic control will still be in place over the weekend for safety. Please obey all traffic signs.

Memorial Day (originally known as Decoration Day) is a federal holiday for mourning the U.S. military personnel who have died while serving in the United States armed forces.

Reno Spaghetti Bowl Ramp Closures

Ramps will be CLOSED intermittently overnight from 8pm to 6am starting Tuesday, May 31 to Friday, June 3. Please use marked detour routes.

  • Eastbound I-80 to northbound US 395.
  • Eastbound I-80 to southbound I-580.
  • Westbound I-80 to southbound I-580 (primarily mid-week).

Drivers travel the new southbound I-580 lanes.

Northbound and Southbound I-580 Lane Closures

Nightly lane reductions on northbound and southbound I-580 between the Spaghetti Bowl and Mill Street from 8pm to 6am from Tuesday, May 31 to Friday, June 3.

Northbound and Southbound I-580 Second Street/Mill Street Ramps

Access to Second Street and/or Mill Street will be CLOSED intermittently overnight from 8pm to 6am from Tuesday, May 31 to Friday, June 3. Access to one route—either Second Street or Mill Street—will be available.

Kietzke Lane Closures

Kietzke Lane from Kuenzli Street to Galletti Way will be CLOSED overnight from 8pm to 6am in both directions from Tuesday, May 31 to Friday, June 3.

Nighttime construction hours are approximately 8pm to 6am. Daytime construction hours are approximately 7am to 5pm. Drivers can expect reduced speeds through the work zone. All construction activities and times are subject to change and weather dependent.
